The Friends' mission is to infuse our local library with needed funding and volunteers. Friends will be ambassadors to our community, advancing library awareness, and promoting the use of our library and its programs and resources. Our Friends group was established as an adjunct group separate from the Library's Board of Directors, to bring together members of the Atlantic Highlands community and other communities, who have an interest in the strength and success of our public library. Our main focus is promoting our Library, and garnering support for its programs and special features. A library is many things to many people. It serves as a community center, where people can come together to hold meetings, hear lectures, or share book club interests. It is a place for enjoying a new book, studying or embarking on research. It is your link to the Internet. A library can be the first place a young child experiences the joy and excitement of reading!
