February 16, 2010 Meeting

Open House at the Library was held on February 18th from 3-5 with a great turnout! Thanks to all involved for bringing in all the goodies and decorations!

Dr. Seuss' Birthday Party will be held on March 4th at 3pm. Come enjoy a slice of birthday cake and grab a frisbee!!

New fundraiser has started until March 31st. We will be hosting a Pampered Chef demonstration on March 18th from 6:30-8:30 to raise funds for the "extras" the new Library will be needing that is not part of their budget. You can go online at: www.pamperedchef.biz/cookstools to order or stop in at the Library and pick up a catalog. Please remember to enter AHFOL in the host section of the order sheet.

Movie Night: April 5th at the Library. We will be showing "New Moon" - kids - bring pillows and blankets and come and get comfy with the Vampires and Werewolfs!!

2010 Calendar Development:

February 18th

We will be holding a Library Openhouse from 3-5 pm. We will ask the local children to create posters for us to hang using the theme “I love the Library”.

March 4th

            Dr. Seuss’ birthday party to be held at the Library at 3pm

Mid-Late March – Date TBD

            Kick Off Pampered Chef fundraising party to be held at the Library.

April 4th – 10th

National Library Week – Marilyn S. will speak to April Bunn at the AHES Library regarding having the Kindergarten children come for a tour.

April 6th – evening

            Read a Book – See a Movie – This will be for ages 13+.

Treasurer’s Report

            2009-Wrote checks for a total of $1801.26

            Current Balance: $2984.00

            Foodtown holiday Drive brought in $162

            Don Vorhees Art Sale gave us a donation of $200

We voted and agreed on spending $50 for an ad on the AHES PTO’s electronic ad board during the February 5th PTO chance auction.

King James Holiday Party

Another huge success with 15-20 residents attending. The volunteer reading program has truly taken off….Congrats to Ann who started it all.

Monmouth County FOL Update

Randi L. attended the last meeting at Monmouth Headquarters. Everyone is working together to come up with fresh new ideas for introducing people to the Library.

Librarian’s Report

The move to new location was a success. Everyone has settled in very nicely. There is now a permanent receptacle in the Library for donations to the local Food Pantry.
